I planted all of my seeds the other day, giving them a nice start indoors before the warm weather makes its way permanently to our nook of Earth. Its a pretty great feeling growing plants. It really makes you feel like a steward of the earth and gives you a very simplistic connection to creation. Its a very relaxing and fun time of year for me.
My nephews were over my house yesterday and I showed them my 75 little potted seedlings and was approached with the simple questions of "whats in there?" "how does it grow?" "what will it turn into?"... now like I said, very simple questions, but at the same time I had to really think about it as I answered and as I did so it put into perspective just how great of a miricle it is just to grow a plant. The consistency in how a seed springs forth a shoot after being giving soil, sunlight, and water, and how that shoot then turns into a plant, which then bears fruit (or vegetable ; ) and then more seeds can be taken from the fruit once you have eaten the part that holds nutrition for your own body. Its remarkable. God sure knows what he's doin! And I'm really glad he lets us take part in it all.
